GOLFERS ETIQUETTE AND COURTESY

Players should not move, talk, or stand close to, or directly behind the ball or the hole, while another player is addressing the ball, or making a stroke.

The player who has the honour should be allowed to play a shot before the next player tees the ball.

A player should not hit until the players in front are out of range.

Players should avoid unnecessary delays and play without delays. As soon as it becomes apparent that a ball will not easily be found, players should signal the group behind to play through, (not search for 3 minutes before doing so). They should not continue to play until the following group have passed, and are out of range.

If a group  fails to keep their place in the field (over a fairway behind) they should allow the following group to play through.

A player who incurs a penalty should alert his marker as soon as possible.

When the result of a hole has been determined, players should ensure that the flagstick has been properly replaced in the hole, then immediately leave the putting green.

Mobile phones are distractions to all golfers, and should only be used on the course for emergencies.

When playing Par or Stableford, if the player or team cannot score, then the ball should be picked up.
